At TRANSMART, the process for our translators to accept a job is as follows:
1. Translators check the contents of the job (language, volume, deadline, content)
2. Translator apply for the job
3. If the matching up between the client and translator is successful, then the translator will officially accept the job.
As a translator, when you update your Translator Personal Information (the information that will be visible to the client), you have to sign and agree to a Confidential Agreement. Should you decide not to apply for the job, or if you were not chosen by the client after applying for the job, please be aware that you are still bound by the Confidential Agreement to keep all details of the order to yourself.
Hence, you will definitely be able to check the contents of the job first before deciding to accept it or not. In fact, it is actually your duty to check the contents of the order first before applying for it because you have to judge for yourself whether your skills and knowledge are sufficient for the order. Applying for a job that is beyond your current skill will result in a negative rating and reduce your score as a translator. Also, if you force yourself to accept an order and fail to meet the deadline, the fact that you were once late in making your delivery will be displayed in your past record under your personal information. Thus, please carefully consider the contents, deadline and difficulty of the order first before deciding whether or not you want to try applying for the job.
