How do you assign translators?

At Transmart, we subdivide our translators using an original Scoring system that allows clients to choose the translators they want by their score level or personal preferences (i.e. nominated translators) every time they place an order. As such, if you plan on using Transmart periodically, you can put your mind at ease by continuing to use the same translator that you like and trust every time you place an order. If you are using Transmart for the first time, you can narrow down your search through their scores or fields of expertise, and select those that you find suitable as your favorite translators. You can then have a “closed audition” by allowing only the translators you think are suitable to apply for your job order. At Transmart, we encourage our clients to participate in the selection process as much as possible. Moreover, if your order requires a high level of expertise, or is a routine order with a fixed amount of volume, our staff can help you to choose the translator that will best suit your needs through our “Concierge Service.” Depending on the content, our staff can also help to check the quality of the translation after it is done. How long does it take to assign a translator?

For normal orders, the application time given to translators is normally 2 hours. Usually, the application will be on-going for the entire 2 hours but: 1. The application will end the moment the client chooses a translator that he/she likes out of those that have applied. When this happens, the translator can begin translating the order immediately. 2. When there are no applicants within the time period, the order will be cancelled automatically. When this happens, before placing the order again, we highly recommend you to try changing the application time to a different time-slot, or extend the delivery due date so that more translators will want to try applying for it. *For orders with the 90 minute option, the translator will be decided within 30 minutes after the order has been placed. For orders that are high in volume or require a high level of expertise, please contact our office for consultation. For such orders, we highly recommend the use of our “Concierge Plan” in which we will choose and assign a suitable translator for you.

Can I cancel after I have placed an order?

Orders with the status “Translating work in progress (i.e. the translator has already begun translating)” cannot be cancelled. But if the order is still waiting for a translator to be assigned to it, you can cancel it by clicking on the “Cancel” button on the Job Orders Page. However, there is a possibility that some translators have already applied for the order that you are planning to cancel. In such cases, in order to maintain a good image in front of the translators, we highly recommend you to send a message to the translators to inform them of the cancellation.

How do I receive a delivery?

After the translator has delivered the translation, you can receive it by going to “Job Order Status” under Top Page, and clicking on “Job Order Details” under “Translation Work Complete (please acknowledge)”. If you didn’t receive any notification even after the delivery date has passed, please contact the translator using the Message Box. If there is no reply from the translator, or if the translator said that he/she has delivered the translation but there is no notification for it, please contact our office immediately.

How long is the inspection period for delivered goods?

After the translator has delivered the translation, you have 3 days to inspect and acknowledge it. During this period, if you discover any problems with the translation, you can comment on it and send it back to the translator for revision. The translation will be acknowledged automatically after 3 days has passed.

Do you use a native speaker to check all translations?

At Transmart, we don’t use native speakers to check our translations. However, our office offers a personalized option known as the “Concierge Plan” for translations that are high in volume or require high levels or expertise. Can I check-in with, or request for revision to the translator before the delivery date?

You can check the progress of the translation with the translator anytime before the delivery date by using the Messaging function. You can also insert comments and send the translation back to the translator for revision within the inspection period after the delivery date. The inspection period given to you to check the translation is 3 days after the translator has delivered it. Please note that if you fail to comment, send back or acknowledge the delivered translation within the inspection period, the translation will be regarded as “acknowledged” automatically.

Can I assign the same Translator for all my orders?

Of course you can. When placing your order, select “Nominate a Translator” and your order will only be visible to the registered translators you have selected. If you nominate only one translator, it will be the same as you offering the job to him/her. If you want to nominate a translator in advanced, we highly recommend you to select the translator(s) you like and register them under your “Favorite Translators”. To register translators, go to your “Favorite Translators” page, – click on “Achievement Ranking” and register those you like – search their personal information and register those you like – view our “Recommended Translators List” and register those you like Also, if you intend to place a fixed amount of order periodically, the most effective for you to choose an assigned translator would be by placing an “Audition Order (free-of-charge),” and registering the translator that best suits your needs as a “Favorite Translator.” However, please be informed that in order to place an “Audition Order”, your order needs to be periodical and there is a minimum volume required.

Can I appoint the same Translator over and over again?

Of course. There is no limit to the number of times you can appoint the same translator. You can register and save the translators you like under your list of “Favorite Translators”. By clicking on the profile page of the translators, you can see their past records as well as the jobs that they are currently undertaking.

Can I check the progress of my order over the phone?

At TRANSMART, we are unable to check the progress of each order one by one. Please log into your account, and use the “Message BOX” function to check the progress of the translation with the translator directly.
