What should I do if the attachment file is too big?

Even though it is possible to estimate the size of the original file and the size of the translated file at TRANSMART, the limit for all attachment is set at 32 MB. Generally speaking, the size of the translated file should be about the same as the original file. Thus, if the original file exceeds our limit, please divide the files into smaller pieces, and place separate orders for them. However, if the file is way too big to be divided, please contact us directly and we will come up with a way to ensure your order can be placed in a suitable and smooth manner.

Can you send me a quotation first?

Log into your account, click on the Menu button at the top of the page and select “Request for a Translation”, or click on “Get a Translation Quotation” at the bottom of the page. Once you have entered all the information required, the system will automatically count the number of words and you can save the Quotation generated by clicking on the “Save Quotation” button. After that, click on “Account Information” from the Menu button at the top of the page, open “Quotation BOX”, and click on the “Print” button next to the file name you have just saved to generate the PDF format of the Quotation. You can then print it or save it to your desktop as you see fit.

Can you translate confidential information for me?

Aside from possessing the skills needed to pass our tests, all our registered translators are also required to give us their personal information (their personal information is not visible to the clients) and sign a Confidential Agreement with us to state that they will strictly protect all confidential information pertaining to their work, and that they are not a part of any crime organization. Those who refuses or has not signed the agreement will not be able to view the content of the order, much less apply for a job. Also, we use SSL encryption for all our file uploads to maximize our internet security. However, as we operate our business over the internet, there might be some unpredictable events that forbid the client to send their file over the internet due to their confidential business policy. When that happens, please use our “Concierge Service”. When you use our “Concierge Service”, we will assign one of our own staff to attend to you personally, thus giving you more privacy and flexibility. Can you translate a picture for me?

No, we can’t because it is not possible for our system to count the number of words in a picture. As such, you will have to convert it to a file that is acceptable by our system first.

How can I communicate with the client?

You can communicate with the clients through the usage of the Messaging Function that can be found in the Members Page. You can send and check your messages by clicking on the “Message BOX” icon at the top of the Members Page, or by clicking on the “Open Message BOX” icon at the Order Details Page.

What type of documents can you translate?

You can place your order through text input or by uploading the file. The types of files that may be uploaded are as follows (extension are written inside the bracket): – Plain text (.txt) – MS Word (.doc) – Excel (.xlsx) – Power Point (.pptx) – PDF (.pdf) *only for users of “Concierge Plan” The system will then automatically count the number of words in the files listed above. Also, unless you put a remark in the Comment section, the translated work will be saved in the same file format as the original. However, please note that current technology still lacks the capability to automatically count the number of words in the “Note” Section of Power Point files. As such, if you need the “Note” section to be translated as well, please copy & paste the text separately into another file.
