What type of translators are there at Transmart?

Hypothetically, the passing rate for our Registration Test is about 2% only, and all our translators have to pass the Registration Test in order to be able to apply for jobs. As such, all our translators possess the basic minimum skills required to be a professional translator. As a client, you can also view the translator’s profile such as their basic skills and field of expertise (but none of their personal information will be displayed). Moreover, at Transmart, we use a variety of factors such as their careers, rank-up test scores and other achievements to score our translators. This enables us to match the best translator with the appropriate translation order and volume, and ensure that only high quality translations will be provided to our clients.

Is it ok for translators and clients to exchange personal email address or telephone numbers?

At Transmart, we strictly prohibit the exchange of personal contact information. Please see our Terms of Service for other prohibitions such as “Duplicate Registration”. What kind of information is disclosed to the client?

The information that you have input under “Translator Profile”, such as your name, address, telephone number and bank account number, will never be disclosed to anyone. So please rest assure. What should I do if I want to increase my number of orders as a translator?

It’s vital for you to have the level of skills that the client expects you to have. If you already have the necessary skills, make sure your literary style suits that of the client, and don’t forget to contact the client in an appropriate manner. ◆ In the case of clients you already have dealings with We try our best to make sure that the client’s information is displayed as much as possible. Thus, you should find out about the client’s preferences and submit a translation that suits the client’s taste in order to increase your chance of being nominated again for future job orders. ◆ In the case when you want to increase the number of new clients You can use your Profile as a means to make it easier for clients to place their orders with you by explaining your field and area of expertise in a way that is appealing to the client, and by publishing your annual schedule for them to see. So you should convey information about yourself in a more proactive manner. You can update your Profile at any time, but please avoid writing down any false information. Why are there certain job orders that I cannot apply for?

At TRANSMART, you can apply for jobs only after you have passed the Registration Test, and have completely filled in all details in your Profile section. The clients are not able to view any of the translator’s personal information; they will only be able to view the translator’s profile as a translator. That’s why we have to ensure that all our translator’s profile are complete before they can start applying for jobs in order to maximize their appeal to potential clients. – For those who haven’t passed (or haven’t taken) the Registration Test Please take the Registration Test. Even though the test is difficult, you can retake it as many times as you want. Your score will be displayed instantaneously and if you fail, you have to wait 1 hour before you can retake the test. – For those who haven’t filled in all details in the Profile section Please fill in all the details of your Profile by clicking on the Edit button on the Profile page. You can start applying for jobs after you have filled in all details in the “Log-in Information”, “Translator Information” and “Skill Information”. We highly recommend you to write as politely and appealing as you can in the sections that will be visible to the clients.

I want to take the “Rank Up Test” but it says “Application Denied”. Why is that?

Only those who have passed the “Registration Test” can take the “Rank Up Test”. Unless you have passed the “Registration Test”, the “Rank Up Test” will appear as “Application Denied” to you. So please take and pass the “Registration Test” first. Also, please note that you don’t have to pass both “Japanese to English” and “English to Japanese” Registration Test in order to be eligible for the subsequent “Rank Up Test”. So be sure to take the test that best suits your skills first. Even if you failed the test, you may retake it again after a certain amount of time has passed.

What should I do if I forgot my password?

If you forgot your password, you can reset your password by clicking on the “Did you forget your password?” button on the Log-in Page. If you forgot the email address you use to log in, please use the inquiry form to contact us. Please be informed that when that happens, we will need to verify the name of your company, the name of the PIC as well as your company’s telephone number. Also, please note that we are incapable of telling you your password even if you contact us directly.
